Team
- Minimum of 2 members, capped at 6 members
- Physical presence required
- Exclusion of organizers, judges, and sponsors
Even Playing Field
- Ideas can be elaborated on prior to the start of the hackathon, but all code and design is to be worked on from scratch during the hackathon
- Work to be done exclusively by team members
- Use of open-source libraries is encouraged, provided it does not constitute the entire project
- Development stops once hackathon time is elapsed
Submission
- All development must be conducted onsite
- You cannot steal code or project idea from another team
- The judges call is final.
- Strict adherence to submission deadlines is required
- 2-minute or less video demo required
- Slide presentation uploaded. Areas of focus:
- What problem are you solving?
- Can you describe your solution in one sentence?
- What's unique?
- Your implementation/approach
- Viability and Uptake
- Impact for xStocks
- Code must be pushed to a public repository (e.g. Github)
- Projects do not have to be fully finished, but they must be functional enough to demo
Code of Conduct and Ethics
- Respectful behavior
- Originality (no project recycling)
- Teams subject to disqualification on breach
Tips for Success
- Aim to solve sponsor's stated problems
- Read rules and guidelines carefully
- Engage with mentors, sponsors and other participants
- Focus on building functional MVP rather than shoot for too many features
- Plan to submit your project with a time buffer to allow for last-minute technical glitches
